Briefing documents
Which? regularly produces campaign briefings for the media. These cover the specific areas we campaign on.
Consumer Rights Directive
The European Commission adopted the proposal for a Directive on Consumer Rights on 8 October 2008. Which? is concerned that the Directive will lead to a potential loss of key rights for UK consumers. Which? is particularly worried about a number of ‘step backs’ for the UK consumer, including the loss of the primary right to reject faulty goods; and the six year limitation period for claiming for faulty goods being cut to two years.

Consumer research on Energy Labelling
Latest research from Which? has found that British consumers much prefer the current A-G energy label rather than the new label proposed by the European Commission (EC). We are calling on MEPs to support the A-G label and ensure that it is adopted in all product categories.

Bamboozling Bills and Tariffs
New Which? research and an analysis of bills by the Plain English Campaign reinforces the need for drastic action to simplify energy bills and tariffs.

Smarten up the roll out
Which? would like to see a mandatory roll-out of portable wireless energy monitors alongside smart meters to provide consumers with real-time information that they can use to cut their usage and costs. We also want to ensure consumers are protected from shouldering the full cost.
