Research cheap tyres
Check your tyres’ size and specification details in your owner’s handbook. Write down the exact make and model names of your first and second choice cheap tyres.
Contact the retailers you are considering and ask for a quote for the cheap tyres you’ve chosen, in the size and specification you need.
When retailers give you a quote for cheap tyres, make sure it includes new valves, fitting and balancing.
Don’t be persuaded into buying an alternative if they can’t supply the tyre you want.

Shop around for cheap tyres
It’s well worth contacting several different tyre retailers to compare costs.
For the two sizes we tested as part of our tyres review, the independent, regional and online tyre retailers came out cheaper than national chains.
The online and national retailers offer a wider range of tyres than the independent and regional outlets.
Shopping around might save you money. If one offers you a better deal, but is further away, try asking a nearer retailer to match the offer.
