Speak to your dentist first
If you're unhappy with any dental treatment you've received, you should speak to your dentist or practice manager first.
If this doesn't resolve your complaint, write to the practice explaining the problem and what you want them to do – remember to keep a copy of all correspondence.
The next step is different for complaints about NHS dentists and private dentists.

Complain about a private dentist
If you aren't satisfied with the way a private practice has dealt with your complaint, you should contact the independent Dental Complaints Service.
This service is run by the General Dental Council (GDC) which regulates and registers dentists and dental care professionals in the UK. It has the power to restrict or remove a dentist from the register if they fall far short of the GDC’s standards.
