Best Buy baby carriers and baby slings
Our baby slings and carriers are tested by critics who are famous for letting parents know when they're not happy
We enrolled 48 new parents and their babies to take part in our massive user trial, putting 12 baby carriers and four baby slings to the test.
To be a Which? Best Buy baby carrier or sling, the product had to please the fiercest product critics there are – parents with young babies. Our Best Buys are easy to get on and off, comfortable to wear and provide the baby with a secure and comfy place to bond with mum or dad.
As well as giving us their first impressions of the carriers or slings they tried, our mums and dads recorded every ache and pain they got from wearing their babies as they got on with doing the shopping or the school drop-off.
A Best Buy is easy to use. Fancy features didn't impress us unless they made the carrier or sling better at doing its job.
Those that don't make the grade are likely to have pleased fewer of the 12 parents who tried them, be difficult to get to grips with, uncomfortable to wear or result in tears and tantrums from mother and child.

Which? testing is different
Many other websites can offer you reviews of baby slings and carriers, but Which? carries out large-scale comparative tests to a depth of detail that no other review website can match – so if we put our Best Buy stamp on them, you can be sure you're choosing from the best.
Our testing and user trial are conducted by an independent laboratory with experience in testing consumer products. We use standardised test methods and ask each person the same questions to get consistent feedback on how well the products perform.
Which? bases its testing on feedback from parents
Which? surveyed parents to find out what they wanted to know about baby slings and baby carriers before we developed our testing programme. We put parents' major concerns at the heart of our testing.
Every Which? member is also able to comment on our online reviews and leave their feedback for the products they own. We use this feedback to develop and improve our methods in future tests.
