Britax B-Smart 3 Wheel review
http://www.which.co.uk/baby-and-child/baby-transport/reviews/pushchairs/britax-b-smart-3-wheel/review/
The Britax B-Smart three-wheeler pushchair is compatible with the Britax Baby Safe range of car seats and carrycots (which you have to buy separately). Is this three-wheeler pushchair as good across rough ground as on city streets? We put it to the test to find out.

I was recommended this pushchair by a friend but 8 months on, I regret that I didn't do a bit more research before I purchased it as it is not as good as I had expected. There are a few major faults which I have come across - firstly, there is no suspension whatsoever, so even on pavements, the ride is not smooth by any means. The handle, I will agree completely with other customer views, is completely inadequate for the size/ weight of the pram. Mine is quite flimsy and feels very 'plasticky' so I would not even take the chance of taking the pram on stairs at all! Also, I have had a problem wi the raincover which does not seem to fit the pram properly. The Velcro strips that hold it in place seem to be too far away from the ones on the cover when it is on, so they will not join up, consequently, had to chase m cover down the road last week when it blew off in the wind. Very annoying, just cannot use it on a windy, wet day. Will be looking for another pram very shortly, it is not enjoyable to use a all, and as others have also highlighted, the straps are too short and my baby at 12 months, will definitely not be in this for another 2 yrs (as manufacturers claim) - this pram would not seat a child of aged 3, unless they are very small!! Apart from anything else, my baby is not content in this for any length of time, she seems to slip down and look very uncomfortable. Altogether, very disappointed. Pros: Cons:

Either the pushchair design for the Britax b-Smart 3 has changed, or the tester didn't know how to fold this up. We haven't bought a pushchair yet, but we've been testing out a lot of them, and this pushchair from Britax fits EASILY into the boot of a Fiat 500. In fact, I would go so far as to say that it fits in better than any other pushchair on the market. When folded up, this pushchair is unbelievably small. So, Which error or Britax redesign? Five-tick review given only on the basis of the size when folded - haven't tested it for anything else yet. Pros: Cons:

Have now been using it for 9 months without any issues! It's reminded me of why I bought it in he first place. There are some changes to the 2011 model: extendable hood arms (so it is closer to newborns head), break has a cover over (so the elements can't get in to stop it working), straps are longer (but still rather snug when my 20 monh old is wearing a snowsuit, jumper and with the cosytoes), there is no longer an apron, but the rain over comes with it. Why Britax made some a mess of the 2010 model I don't know, but the new 2011 is good. Pros: Cons:

Well, where to start describing what's wrong with this pushchair - travel system. Will start with the fact that only bought it because of the highest safety rating of the car seat SHR blah-blah-blah II. In 7 months the pushchair has already been to the repair shop but the problems with breakes returned as the breakes of the pushchair are a joke. You can safely say that there no breakes on the thing. At least won't bother to take public transport as impossible to park it aboard. Right now am spending some time choosing another pushchair on the website. Don't buy this pushchair if you can help it. I'm on my second chasis, the first one was replaced as 7 months on the break got stuck (having never been good from the start).... and the handlebar on the 2nd chasis has just snapped off on one side whilst going down a couple of steps from a shop doorway! This could have been really dangerous! One week on and I still have no loan buggy so mine can be repaired, and I am having to use it very carefully with ducktape holding one side of the handle bar on.I regret buying the buggy online, thinking that if I had bought it from a shop I could go in and get a loan / replacement, but I have heard from others shops can be just as bad. The online retailer said they have had lots of problems with this model, and they don't seem to be half as good as the previous Vigour. The online retailer and Britax doing seem to appreciate the inconvenience of not having a working buggy and how this could have resulted in a serious accident. It is a shame as I like the buggy, but it doesn't seem to be very robust. I really like the option of my son facing me or infront. It is bulky folded but I knew that before I bought it. Due to the 2 faults I have had within 14 months I could not recommend it to others. I've never had a problem with taking the car seat off the chassis, once you get the hang of it, it's fine. Carrycot I think is a waste of money. My son was in it for about 3 months if that. I also experienced an issue with the breaks but Britax were fast with the repair (about 4 days). I got the maclaren triumpf as a replacement and oh my god, I couldn't wait for my britax to come back. The breaks are working fine now. The hood is great as you don't need any silly parasol. It extends when opening the zip and that offers a great protection against the sun. The ride is smooth most of the time. The biggest issue I have however is the seating position. That's why im currently looking at other prams. My son keeps sliding down. The middle strap simply doesnt keep him in place and that worries me as it may affect his spine growth. I think that it would keep older child in place. but they you will have the issue of the shoulder straps being too short. In the summer it may be fine but winter with the footmuff on the top - really not sure. Overall, I think this is a great pram and I will keep it for long walks and rough terrain but will look for something where my son looks a bit more comfortable and I dont have to constantly keep sitting him up as he slides down. This culminated with me being forced to abandon my car walk home in -1 deg during the december snow with a then 8lb - 3mth old, 10wk premature babay as i was unable to get the car seat released from the chassis. Response from Britax customer service was effectively 'you are doing it wrong'. Amazon were fantastic and refunded every related item I had bought. Still waiting for refund on car seat purchased via NCT shop - who were not helpful at all. They initially proposed I send back the car seat I had and the would replace after they had received it. Not sure how they expected me to transport the baby in the meantime. Based on Britax response I would never buy a Britax product again. Pros: Cons:

wrote: | Fife76 wrote: DO NOT PURCHASE!!! I bought this pushchair as part of a travel system. I have used it with the carrycot and car seat and initially found it a good system. However, once my child was six months old I started to use the pushchair and realised what a bad purchase this was. When placed in the pushchair with the cosytoes in use, my 6 month old baby barely fits into the safety harness. I am now having an ongoing battle with the company I bought this from as this pushchair is obviously not fit for its purpose. Britax claim that it will fit a child up to 3 years/ 13 kg. This is not the case and I will be lucky if I can use it for more than another couple of months. The brake pedal also sticks constantly. Pros: Cons:

wrote: | nmason wrote: 6 months of use 6 Months on and I’m on my second chassis. The first one had to be returned as the brake got stuck on stop. It had always been a bit temperamental, not clicking on or off all the time. This second one is the same and when I put the brake on stop it doesn’t always lock the left wheel, or sometimes when I click go the left wheel stays locked! If it wasn’t such a hassle to return it I would request another one. I also find that it is really bulky and takes up a lot of space in our car boot (we have a Vectra luckily). The hood is great and I love being able to use it as a travel system with the car seat and to have my son facing me. The storage space is good, although some sort of screen at the back would be handy to avoid splashes on the goods being carried. I have heard through forums that the straps become an issue with children 18 months or older as they aren’t long enough. It is handy to have hard wheels but doesn’t always lend itself to the smoothest of rides. The turning circle is good and it is nice to push around most shops (although narrow gangways can be a problem). My friend has the Vigour and it is much more compact and the brakes work fine. I’m a little disappointed with my purchase as I researched it lots. I’m seriously considering getting something less bulky like the Micralite Fastfold at present. Pros: Cons:
