Broken brakes
Dear Snowball8

Sorry to hear about your broken brakes. It sounds like it was a sensible move to get your money back as it seems the brakes on your pushchair may not have been fit for purpose from the start.

Many pushchairs use the same kind of brakes - tiny teeth (or tooth) that project into a matching set of teeth on the purchair wheels - it's always worth checking that the teeth are lined up properly before applying the brake, or giving the wheels a little rock back and forth to get the lined up if you feel resistance while applying the brake to avoid mashing or damaging any of the teeth.

Hope that your new purchase is a happier one. Best wishes.

Don't buy!
I bought this pushchair as a stroller for my son, at first it was a wonderful pushchair, after around 2 weeks though the brake became trickier and trickier to use. Then while I was on the bus the brake failed! If I hadn't been holding the pushchair he would have shot across the bus. :-/It was returned and repaired, within a week the brake failed again, this happened again and again, the last time the whole frame was replaced only for it to happen again... Needless to say that we then got our money back and replaced it with a different model. I would never buy Chicco again.

Look for a stroller with a carry handle on the side
Thanks for sharing your experience of using this pushchair.

If you are worried about not being able to push with one hand it is also worthwhile looking for one which has a carry handle along one side of the frame - the Silver Cross Zest is one example.

It gives a good place for an older child to hold on to the pushchair so a parent can steer with both hands.

Basic pushchair
This pushchair folds/opens easily, looks good and menouvres easily, however, the shopping basket is small and there are no helpful extras like built in pockets. The most annoying feature though is that my feet keep knocking on the closely set wheels when I walk. I'm 5'6" and a size 10 so not exactly odd proportions. I agree with lyns86 that this pushchair will not steer one handed.

Think again before buying...
I bought this from moving from a double to single due to son walking, the pushchair itself is good big if your just wanting a stroller type though and when folded is very long! I am looking at getting a different stroller now as the pushchair is useless if your doing one handed! The amount of people/things i have bumped into because i was holding sons hand and trying to do one handed is unbelievable, you have to really squeeze down on the handle to turn! You cant get to the basket if the pushchair is layed flat. Avoid if you have another childs hand to hold!
