The Uppababy Vista travel system pushchair's large storage basket gives it plenty of appeal, and is suitable for children up to 22kg. You can use it as a pram from birth with the Vista carrycot, which is included. Our tests find out how the Uppababy Vista travel system handles and whether it will work well if you want to take this pushchair into town.

Great carrycot, great seat for 6+ months, easy to put up and down, easy to manoeuvre, easy to adapt to different needs, great basket size, baby sits nice and high, fab basket, suitable on all terrain..... I could go on!I have to say I personally find the negative reviews with regards to weight of the pram and size of carrycot very surprising. I don't find the pram heavy and I'm frequently on buses and lifting it in and out of cars. As far as the length of the carrycot goes, it was never a problem for us and we have a tall child, currently wearing 12-18 month clothes at 8 months old. What 1887188 said actually caught my eye too. The UPPAbaby Vista does convert into a pram system for two children (rumble seat) and a buggy board for the system IS also available. So don't let that put you off this fantastic pram!I tell everyone to get this pram- I love it and so does our wee man! Pros: Cons:

The Which? panel said it is good on all terrain but this has not been my experience at all, bumpy pavements send the buggy bouncing about eractically and going 'off road' across the grass etc is not at all practical. I do know that this is a luxury stroller and not an all terrain buggy, but this has failed where my maclaren stroller could go easily. The primary problem is the lack of air filled tyres but also the clearance above the front wheels and the frame/wheel attachments is very narrow so they easily get clogged up with mud etc and stop the buggy working properly. I also think the suspension is far inferior to several other buggies I have had. We are having to sell ours and replace with a better off roader :-(. Having said that if this was available with all terrain wheels i'd buy it in an instant as I LOVE every other thing about it (and i've had a lot of buggies). I have the 2012 model with the canopy that extends upwards and even with my 2yr8m 98 centile boy in it there is a lot of head room (kids grow taller not wider). The basket is a huge bonus and the uppababy looks amazing and is very user friendly, although I don't use the bus. I love the all in one fold and the high upright seat positions means it can easily be used as a high chair against coffee shop tables etc. Pros: Cons:

We had actually bought a different one to begin with, but it broke on our first trip out, so we ended up going back to the shop and buying the uppababy, which was the very first system we had tested. Overall it is a good pushchair. I think everyone comments about the difficulty accessing the basket with the carrycot in place. The other problems I've found are 1. the wheels often get stuck when unfolding the system causing me to have to fold down again and re unfold several times before it will stand up. 2. the wheels almost always lock when its been folded down, which is a bit annoying. 3. It is really cumbersome. I wish I'd gone for something lighter and smaller. 4. for the price it should really be 2 children compatible. We are expecting baby number 2 (number 1 is 13 months) and I'm really disappointed that you can't have a carrycot and seat on at the same time, and moreover they don't do a buggy board, which means we'll have to buy another pushchair. Maybe we should have paid more attention to that when we bought it. Pros: Cons:

It has great manoeuvrability, is lightweight and feels very sturdy, like it is build to last. The built in sun shield is a brilliant useful and effective feature too. L The basket is huge and you can fit a large amount of shopping bags underneath. I like how high it feels and you don't feel like you need to stoop down to attend to your baby.On the minus side it is a big pram! It's solid which means heavy to lift into the boot of my car and feels bulky at times when going shopping. It's very wide rear wheel base means it won't fit down the aisle on all buses which is a pain, therefore I avoid catching the bus!Overall, very pleased with the purchase but for inner city use probably a bit too big and bulky. I am an UPPAbaby fan but have decided here to focus my review mostly on constructive feedback, as the many positives are already set out in other people's comments and the Which Review. The only rave comment I'll add is about the shopping basket. Unlike other reviewers I have had no problem with accessing the basket when using the carrycot as the release mechanism is so simple that I just lift the carrycot with my baby in it off the base, loaded my shopping in the basket and put the carrycot back onto the base. This takes seconds as opposed to minutes trying to push and pull things from underneath. I also bought velcro clips for the handles so I attached my change bag to these rather than putting it in the basket. There are few disappointments/minor irritations with the UPPAbaby which I wish I'd known first and which I hope UPPAbaby will want to fix:1. The rain cover for the carrycot leaks through the air vents in a heavy downpoor which means water lands on the carrycot cover. It looked like it had been stained both sides, but thankfully washed up like new. Some sort of flap at the top of the airvents might solve this problem. 2. After 8 months of use, the base is creaking and squeaking and no amount of silicone spray is helping matters, so the pram is being returned to the shop for an MOT. 3. The groin stap on the pushchair is extremely narrow and so slips cutting into my baby's groin and is surprisingly short. I'm constantly reseating my daughter upwards as she repeatedly slips down onto the narrow strap. The strap looks cheap and is at odds with the luxurious feel of UPPAbaby.4. The pushchair when in the recline position retains an 'L' Shape so does not lie flat, similar to other expensive travel systems. It's an awkward angle and my baby certainly prefers sleeping on the flat. I tend to walk everywhere so my baby spends quite a bit of time every day in the pushchair. 5. The size of back wheels makes travelling on London buses a real issue as I've found I can't get down the aisle. The first time I encountered this issue, I couldn't do a u-turn as 20+ people had got on the bus after me. To my horror, I found my baby in her pram being lifted high in the air at a 45 degree angle by angry customers to reach the other side of a mid-bus bar with a bump. She was 4 months old at the time! 6. The central bar on the pushchair has a very fiddly design and there is a knack to getting it on and off. Two small buttons either side release the bar and to reconnect it you need to push the bar inwards and downwards into the connection. If you do this several times a day, it initially becomes quite annoying, but you slowly become accomplished at it, However my relatives still struggle. 7. The design for removing the pushchair from the base is fiddly. It requires you to push down 2 buttons either side of the pushchair and at the same time lift the central bar to pull off the pushchair from the base catches. In contrast, the pram was a single handed catch lift which deserves a gold star design award. Surely the single handed catch lift could have also been used again on the pushchair?I have had to buy a lighter and more compact pushchair because of points 3, 4 and 5 and find I now use my Cosatto Swift Lite as much as my UPPAbaby. Having read many of the reviews I'd like to add that I found the carry cot to be a very good size compared to many other makes in length, width and depth. I borrowed a Quinny when abroad visitting family and was unable to use the carrycot as my baby was too big for it whereas we still used the carrycot in our Uppababy at home for another month or so. I do find the rear wheels deceptively wide and often bump them when shopping but the maneouverability is superb, great to be able to turn a full 360 in a confined space such as an elevator. The space in the basket is a great bonus on day trips, you can fit lots in there. I like the added touch of the sprung lip on the basket which makes getting my large change bag in and out easier. This was also needed when the carrycot was used as it sits lower than the pushchair part. Other little extras like the nodules on the handle that stop the handle foam touching the ground when it is folded and sitting vertically. I appreciate that when it is folded, none of the seat or hood touch the ground meaning that I have been able to keep it cleaner than some of my friends have been able to keep theirs so no need for new covers. The sun shade has been invaluable and the flap at the back of the hood is great for letting you 'spy' on baby as well as giving ventilation on hot days. As for the foot muff, we bought another make that has a universal fit and a great ladybird pattern that looks really funky with the chair. It keeps our little one comfy and warm and the rain hood that came with the chair keeps him dry on wet days. The rain hood for the carrycot was also a good fit for the our maxicosi pebble car seat. We've had this chair for almost a year and I'm looking forward to being able to use it as my little boy gets bigger, he has plenty of room left in it. I'm heading back to work soon however and am considering whether I need to get another pushchair in addition to this one for his grandma to use as she has less boot space and has those general 'old age' pains so might suffer when lifting it. All in all I loved the look of this system from when I first saw it. We were particularly drawn to it as the baby was nice and high, great for a tall husband and a mum with a bad back. It looked smart, had great features and felt good to push, sturdy but moved well. It has proved to be well worth the investment. Pros: Cons:

I also looked closely at the Mamas and Papas Sola, and did like the ability to angle the handlebar on it, but the Uppababy won as it is so sturdy. We have only just moved our baby up to the 'buggy' seat, having used the bassinet until she was 3 months. The bassinet is lovely and plush inside and was very comfortable for our baby. It is also useful that it can be used for overnight sleeping, as I used it recently when we were away for a few days, and it saved the trouble of using a travel cot at this stage. The buggy seat is excellent, I also purchased the Snugseat insert to keep her head steady and it is a really good accessory, I would recommend it. I also have the Ganoosh foot muff which is lovely and cosy for autumn/winter. Note that the footmuff doesn't come in every colour, I think its only 3 of the possible 7 or 8 colours that the pram is available in.The UV screen is VERY handy! Sometimes when you are out walking the sun comes and goes - it is so easy to simply flick the screen back and forth as needed, unlike attaching a parasol etc. The basket is absolutely brilliant, I can get a huge amount of shopping in it, compared to some other popular brands which have absolutely tiny baskets! The width of the wheelbase is a bit of an issue, as I have to open both my outer front doors to bring the buggy in; however, it is not enough of an issue to put me off. Also in certain shops with double doors it will not fit through one door, and you need to open the other door to get it in - again, not a huge issue.I use a Maxi-cosi Pebble seat along with this system and it all works well. All in all, would highly recommend. Pros: Cons:

wrote: | Which.co.uk editor wrote: A word about wheels for Nomis12 Hi Nomis, Thank you very much for sharing your experience of using the Vista with the Maxi Cosi car seat. We think that this is a really interesting observation. When we test the pushchair we perform some of the safety and durability tests with the car seat in place, but did not observe this problem. We sometimes observe the same thing when taking buggies out for a First Look - although we put a weighted 'baby' doll in them, weighing about 5kg, they are usually not loaded down with bags and baby paraphernalia. The front wheels of really light pushchairs can lift off the floor and sometimes even spin around, particularly when manoeuvring the pushchair at speed. When we test pushchairs we do most of our assessments with the main pushchair seat in place - ultimately we believe that you will use the seat for longer. We do test the safety and durability of the attachment points for car seats and carrycots, and put the pushchair on the 'rolling road' durability test with them in place. But we don't spend as much time pushing them around with the attachements in place as the seat. We will raise this point with Uppababy next time we meet with them, which we expect to be in September 2012. In the meantime we are impressed that they replaced your chassis. Have you written to tell them about this observation? It's most essential that they have your feedback too! As an aside we would definitely recommend that where possible you use the bassinet that allows your baby to lie flat, rather than the car seat, for pushing your baby around in. We know it is not as convenient, but car seats should not be used for long periods of time. You have also uncovered another reason why they may not be the best seat for your baby once he or she has left the car. Thanks again for sharing your experience. Pros: Cons:

wrote: | newdad wrote: Loving the Uppababy We have been using the Uppababy Vista for 2 and a half months now. The chassis itself is very sturdy and well made, the basket is especially large and practical. I am 6 foot 3 and my wife is 5 foot 5 so the adjustable handle bar comes in very useful to allow us both to comfortably push our son around. Our son has mainly been using the pram attachment but has been in the pushchair for the first time this week and he is quite happy in them both. The fact that our little one can sleep overnight in the pram has saved us from taking a travel cot as well on the few occasions that we have been away from home. One downside is it is quite large so if you were using buses regularly this may be a bit more of an issue. It does just fit flat into the boot of our megane. Our one complaint is the lack of a parasol attachment which Uppababy don't make. Overall we're very pleased with our purchase but most importantly so is our son! Pros: Cons:

wrote: | Nomis12 wrote: Wobbly wheels I thought I would write this post to see if anybody else has experienced similar problems. We bought the Uppababy Vista after an awful lot of research and were not disappointed when it arrived. We love the high ride height and the enormous basket, although I would have to agree with CMR400123730 that it is a little difficult to access when the bassinet is fitted. The system is very easy to steer and fold and looks fantastic - we bought the 2012 all black model. Our only real problem has been with the wheels. After a few weeks of use we noticed that the front two wheels were wobbling an awful lot whilst travelling over completely flat, smooth ground. This was making the ride uncomfortable for baby as the wobbles were causing the whole system to shake. It also made pushing significantly harder. We contacted the shop where it was purchased and they asked us to bring it in for a look. This we duly did and they asked us to try with a different set of wheels which they provided. The wobbling persisted and so they contacted Uppababy on our behalf.Uppababy immediately sent a whole new chassis to replce ours whilst advsiing us to keep our existing front wheels. That was a week or so ago and the problem has continued as before. This led me to take a long, hard look at the system myself and the only cause I can come up with is as follows. At the moment we are mainly using our Maxi Cosi Cabriofix seat on the chassis when we are out and about. When fitted, the Cabrifox seat seems to me to sit rather far back on the chassis meaning that its centre of gravity is more over the rear wheels then the front. This of course means that there is not much weight on the front wheels and I have deduced that it is this that is causing them to wobble and spin. The problem is not as pronounced when we use the bassinet and we have not tried the buggy yet since our baby is too small. The only solutions are therefore to avoid using the Cabriofix and therby sacrificing all the convenience that this brings, or locking the front wheels into position and sacrificing all of the manoeuvrability of free spinning wheels.Any comments greatly appreciated! We went for this model as it was a 'Best Buy' and we are extremely satisfied. We do not use public transport but it fits (albeit snugly) in our hatchback boot -definitely try this first- having to take the wheels off would be a hassle. We have gone for the Maxi-cosi Cabriofix with docking station and this made life very easy for nipping in and out of shops and supermarkets. Some minor complaints: with the bassinet in there is little room for shopping underneath- they could have done with raising it a little; when going cross-country there is a fair bit of debris/mud build up in the front wheel arch; the wheels are quite a bit wider at the rear than you think- I have clipped a number of shop aisles/door frames and jerked the baby awake sometimes. We did not buy the footmuff but an individual one and have had no trouble fitting it to the pushchair. All in all we are very happy and will hopefully be augmenting it with the rumble seat and boogie board in due course... wrote: | TheToffeeGirl wrote: Love it - totally satisfied With my first baby I had no idea what I would need out of a buggy/pushchair/travel system and was completely boggled by all the choice. I ended up with a pushchair that I hated (M&P) and bought a new one around six months later. Second time around I knew exactly what I did and didn't want and, armed with the reviews from Which, went to test out a couple that we'd narrowed it down to. We bought the Uppababy Vista and I am so happy with my choice. Great basket, fits easily in the boot, no problems on the bus (Manchester) which I use most days, smooth manoeuvring, even one handed. Unlike some other reviewers, have had no problem with the Maxi Cosi adaptors and the collapse mechanism really seemed to improve after a few uses (or I just got better). We found a couple of shops that offered the footmuff free as a special offer, so might be worth shopping round at your local stockists. We also bought the buggy board (Piggyback) which my 4 year old loves - would definitely recommend this addition if you have a toddler to accommodate. I could go on and on, but I won't - try it out in the shop & get the hang of the collapse mechanism - I really can't recommend it enough!! Pros: Cons:
