Chicco Polly Magic Safety Alert
Chicco has asked owners of the Polly Magic to get in contact for a free safety kit to cover the protruding pegs on the rear legs used to store the tray when it is not in use. They’ve taken this step after several reports of children sustaining injuries after falling against the pegs.

You can call Chicco’s customer care service on 01623 750 870 or for more information visit www.chicco.co.uk/OurProducts/Product recalls.aspx. Chicco estimates that this affects models on sale prior to January 2011 as the newer models do not feature the tray storage pegs at all.

Spacious, comfortable, sturdy, lasts forever
Great highchair - Spacious and comfortable so easily takes a little fattie which is useful as I never imagined when I bought it all my kids would be on the 99% for weight! It can be a faff getting the crumbs out of the padding but it is comfy and I was very glad of the padding when my eldest boy started headbanging for a few weeks - quite a few of my friends whose kids did the same regretted getting solid wood ones! My little ones have all slept quite happily in it too. Takes up quite a bit of space when up but you fold it away so it works well in my flat. I like that you can take the top tray off once they have finished eating. My only gripe really was that the crotch bar is attached to the tray so you cant put it down on the kitchen surface with food on it. We got round this by removing the bar and just used the fabric straps for security. Because it reclines it is also useful for keeping newborns close at hand while you eat or out of the general melee at floor level if you have older children/toddlers/animals. I give it a regular wipe down and wash the straps in the washing machine occasionally, its on its 3rd baby now and looks almost like new!

Bombproof
My son is 5 months and so far we've been using it in the newborn configuration. It's so nice to have him up high with me in the kitchen and sitting at the table so he's already learning about eating. It's a really sturdy design from the overall weight and balancing down to the adjusters. You would be very hard pushed to knock it over. Also the tray liner has a glossy high-friction surface on which plates and cups don't easily slide around. It's easy to use. All the adjusters are orange so you can spot them quickly. As plastic chairs go, it looks quite nice. The main plastic is a sort of pearlescent ivory colour.I found it a bit tricky to shorten the straps enough to suit my baby. You need two hands to unfold it. That's probably a good thing safety wise but it does mean putting baby down.I like the toy bar. It's great for when baby is young and is not in the chair to eat. I also think the wheels are useful because the chair is heavy, but you have to tip it quite a lot for them to work so they're not very well designed. I think it was a great buy overall.

Very sturdy but that can have it's drawbacks!
No doubting this is a sturdy product! Now our little lad is past 7 months, he seems to be forced back into the seat by the tray table and seems to slump down. It doesn't look comfortable that way and he has trouble reaching for finger food. We thought about not using the tray and pulling him up to the table as he is keen to join in family mealtimes but the footprint of the chair prevents this. It takes up a lot of room when in use! The rubber feet really grip well to our tiled floor, making the chair hard to move around. Of course the size, weight and rubber feet are what give it that great stability! For us, a chair that's easier to move would have been better. One final point is that the tray is quite tricky to attach or store and it has a narrow moulding seam all around the edge that gathers stray food very well but hard to clean out. Guess which part our little chap loves to lick?

Difficult for baby to reach finger food using the tray
My son is 8 months now and finds it hard to reach finger food as the slide on food tray is high up and his elbows are beneath the level of the tray, is hard for him to look down on the food and see what's on his tray. Going to try without the tray for this reason. Also he is fitting quite snug into back of the chair and sometimes gets quite hot sitting there with head against the plastic quilted seating. The advantage of a supported sit at 4 months is starting to feel a little too restricted.

Sturdy, useful features, wipe-clean.
Sturdiest and most stable of all the baby high chairs we tried (not counting Tripp Trapp and Svan which we only used from toddlerhood). Clip-on tray is great for lifting off all the dinner mess in an instant and letting little one sit at a clean table whilst the grown-ups finish their dinner. The adjustable everything is a real boon, you can make sure your little one still has their feet on the rest and tip the seat back for a comfortable snooze if they fall asleep over their dinner (this feature useful when you have two or more kids, when it's not so easy to leave the kitchen at the drop of a hat to put baby in the cot). The little clip-on table on the leg is handy too for putting down a bowl of whatever out of reach of the baby whilst you deal with whatever it's just spat out.... Generally easy to wipe clean, however removing the covers for a proper clean is a real nuisance and there seems to be no way to remove the webbing straps for a wash. Overall though the best plastic highchair we have used.

Really not great -over engineered.
I bought this as our first daughter hit 6months. We used it for her until she was about 2yrs old then after that we discovered a booster seat.I have a number of issues with the product:1. The footprint when in use is really enormous - not great when space is an issue in the kitchen /dining area. Unfortunately it also consumes a fair amount of space folded up.2. As above - the tray table was hard to attach for storage, so much so i often gave up on it.3. All the padding which makes it look comfortable and appealing, also makes it a really big faff to clean - especially the straps! 4. The brakes on the wheels are hard to apply making it difficult to keep stored folded away.5. Many many attachments with unnecessary uses. (eg. mesh bag at back? little table clips onto side of leg?.I liked the reclining feature and also the adjustable chair height. But unfortunately these features are completely overwhelmed by all the space which is consumed by the chair (even when folded up!!) and how hard it is to clean properly.

Great chair
This is a very good highchair. It definitely is well designed and seems very comfortable for our son. A couple of minor issues which we've encountered: (1) when the highchair is folded, it is often a bit tricky to attach the table for storage (but maybe that's just me!) and (2) the straps are definitely at risk of being stained with messy foods, and crumbs get stuck in between the cushions' crevices. But it is really solid, and the removeable eating tray which is easily cleaned is an excellent feature as our little one LOVES making a huge mess, and it's easy just to clip the thing off mess and all, and leave the nice clean play tray underneath. There is also a toy bar which is definitely more appropriate for smaller babies - we first got the chair when our baby was 6 months and he was a bit rough with it and could almost pull the toys off. But they would definitely be appropriate for a less boisterous and smaller bambino. (Ours is very big for his age.) We got the chair from Kiddicare and it was also around the £120 mark, including delivery, brand new. Overall, we are very happy with it.

Have used this chair since my son's birth, so he could sit with us at meal times. The recline feature is really good. However the tray sits very high up so when my son (now 7months) is in it, he struggles to reach things on the tray. He is quite a small baby though. The straps are also prone to staining with the usual first foods e.g. carrots. Is a good buy overall though, is very robust!

Fabulous buy!
I purchased this highchair before my daughter was born and am very impressed. Very easy to assemble, newborn liner is excellent and I machine washed it numerous times without any problems. Very easy to adjust in every way. We have a rather boisterous dog and the highchair is very sturdy and I would say virtually impossible to knock over. The only thing I would recommend they address is the wheels, they are useless! Other than that it's wonderful. I bought mine from an Ebay shop, brand new and boxed for £120 delivered.
