During February and March 2012 we toured the UK to talk to consumers about their biggest energy concerns - everything from coping with energy bills to smart meters, we wanted to know what you thought.

Whether it was giving advice on bills or helping them join The Big Switch, Which? advisers were on-hand to help.

I don't know how they can justify their own prices, the profits they're making, ITT charges, and gas prices are dropping, but you don't see anything coming back to you, so you'll want to really find it. It's a wee bit hard to take and, I think they're just trying to keep it all for real now.

There is no national standard for a smart meter at the moment, which means that particular suppliers British gas will recommend they install a smart meter. For that and actual facts stops you from then switching to another provider in the future. So they sell as an advantage but in actual fact the consumer finds it to be a disadvantage.

Why is it when prices come down with one company they all come down. If they go up with one company, they all go up. And they all go up roughly by the same amount of money. Efficiency and getting assistance as well. The people that want to put in solar power but the people I've seen putting in solar power with the industry.I wouldn't have the solar power because they are putting it on with cheep wood that will deteriorate within a two or three years and these panels will be falling off I don't know what a decent company is. I'm here in Glasgow along with many other people, wanting to Glasgow, particularly what you're going to do about simplifying tariffs and making sure there's transparency in the energy market for part press consumers for what is a very difficult time for people. My whole feeling is that a variety of companies doesn't really help the consumer at all.

I think we were much better in the days when single suppler for gas and electricity. You knew who you were dealing with. You knew what the rates were. You knew what the consumption was and you can budget much more accurately than you can today With the variety of rates and tarrifs that are available to you, It's far too complex
