Big Change Pledge your support

Are you tired of paying for the mistakes of irresponsible banks? Do you think it's time to change the focus from sales to service?

Banking culture has to change. We've seen enough scandals and mis-selling. No more reckless banks. No more free-passes for bankers who break the rules. Banks should work for customers, not bankers.

Which? wants Big Change to fix banking culture:

1. Bankers should put customers first, not sales
2. Bankers must meet professional standards and comply with a code of conduct
3. Bankers must be punished for mis-selling and bad practice.

If you've had enough of the banks' bad behaviour pledge your support for our campaign:

Why launch the Big Change now?

In the wake of all the recent banking industry scandals, we're having a crisis of consumer trust and confidence. We found almost three-quarters (71%) of people don't think UK banks have learnt their lesson from the financial crisis.

'If staff have broken the law they should be prosecuted. If customers have been unfairly treated then they should be compensated.'

In December 2012, a panel set up by the government will make recommendations on how to fix banking culture. The inquiry gives us all a unique opportunity to help transform a sector that has lost its moral compass.

You've bailed out the banks, suffered the consequences of PPI mis-selling and watched the Libor rate-rigging scandal unfold.

All the while bankers continued to be rewarded with excessive bonus payments.

The time is right to push the reforms that are desperately needed to turn banking into an industry that consumers can trust. We need banks for customers, not bankers.
