Alfa Romeo car reviews

Very much an 'enthusiast' marque, the Italian Alfa Romeo brand is closely linked with parent company Fiat. It shares engines, transmissions and 'platforms' (the floorpan and suspension) with Fiat, but styling is certainly an Alfa strong point.

Alfa Romeos tend to have a sporting bent, though not all pack the sort of punch that their styling suggests. The lower-spec models cost less and are cheaper to run, but if you want the brawn to match the looks it'll cost you more.

Sadly reliability leaves a lot to be desired, and UK dealers aren't highly rated in the Which? survey.

Alfa Romeo 159 reviews

The Alfa Romeo 159 retains all the key Alfa attributes: prominent chrome grille, taut body surfacing, fine handling. But the compact executive saloon also has a fit and finish that that will broaden the appeal of the Alfa Romeo 159 beyond its traditional customer base.

Alfa Romeo Brera reviews

The Alfa Romeo Brera is a beautiful Italian coupé that was designed to replace the Alfa GTV. The Alfa Romeo Brera offers a harmonious mix of sport and elegance, but those looking for a sports car may be disappointed.

Alfa Romeo GT reviews

The Alfa Romeo GT couldn't belong to any other carmaker. It is a (much prettier) coupé alternative to the Audi TT, with every sumptuous line emanating from that very confident chrome Alfa grille. Unfortunately, there are other traits regarding the Alfa Romeo GT that are also, distinctly Alfa.

Alfa Romeo Giulietta reviews

The Alfa Romeo Giulietta is the Italian firm's latest family hatchback designed to take on the Ford Focus and VW Golf. Replacing the popular 147, the Alfa Romeo Giulietta uses an all-new chassis and will be offered with Fiat's sophisticated new Multiair engines. UK sales are expected to start in July 2010.

Alfa Romeo MiTo reviews

The Alfa Romeo MiTo (named after the Italian cities Milan and Torino) is Alfa’s take on the oh-so-popular Mini. The Alfa Romeo MiTo is the marque's first ever supermini: it borrows lots of styling cues from the Alfa 8C Competizione and is available with numerous engines, including the range-topping 170bhp MiTo Cloverleaf.

Alfa Romeo Spider reviews

The Alfa Romeo Spider was a two-seater convertible version of the GTV. Unveiled in 1996, it became a very desirable and much more attractive rival to the Mazda MX-5 and BMW Z3. The Alfa Romeo Spider has since been succeeded by the Alfa Brera Spider.

The Alfa Romeo 166 was a much prettier saloon replacement to the Alfa Romeo 164. Built between 1998 and 2007, it experienced a substantial revamp in 2003. However, sales in the UK were slow, due to a lack of diesel engine.

The Alfa Romeo 156 is one of the most successful Alfas in recent years. Released in 1997, it had the style and refinement to compete with Germany's compact executive elite. The Alfa Romeo 156 was available as both a saloon and estate and was offered with front-wheel and four-wheel drivetrains.
