What is the Skoda MissionL concept?
The MissionL was the showpiece of the Skoda stand at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. A compact family saloon, the MissionL is a clear indicator of the upcoming model line from the VW-owned manufacturer, and it’s being tagged as the start of a new ‘model offensive’ from the brand.
If you’ve been a close follower of Skoda, this model won’t look entirely new to you. That’s because the MissionL shares a lot of its design cues with the previously revealed VisionD concept, previewed at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year.
Why buy a Skoda MissionL?
Skoda is promising big things from this close-to-production family car. With very few saloons in the medium car sector anymore, the MissionL, which is likely to be under a different name when released in the UK, has the benefit of size in its arsenal. But it also means it goes head-to-head with some strong competition, like the VW Golf and Ford Focus.
According to Skoda personnel, the MissionL has a strong focus on two areas: size and affordability. That means a fairly substantial sized boot, plenty of room in the back and a reasonable price tag.

What are the Skoda MissionL engine options?
While most concepts being featured at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show have an electric focus, the MissionL looks more likely to incorporate existing engine derivatives currently available in the Skoda range.
How much will the Skoda MissionL cost?
With prices for the Fabia starting at around £10,000 and Octavias costing from £14,000, expect to pay something in the middle of these two.
When can I buy a Skoda MissionL?
The five-door saloon is due to go into production in 2012 across an number of markets, including Europe.
