Make sure you pack emergency supplies
We’re not suggesting a Ray Mears survival pack, but it’s a good idea to store some emergency supplies in the boot of your car just in case you get stuck and are left awaiting roadside assistance.
Essential items include:
We’d also pack a few bottles of water, some chocolate bars, an extra pair of dry clothes and a few sandbags (we’ll explain later…).
Plan routes (using the AA route planner, Google maps or similar) to favour major roads which are more likely to have been gritted.
If your journey gets delayed due to the snow, do not try to make up time by driving faster.
