  • NEW PRICE: £8,030 - £12,260
  • USED PRICE: From £995

The Ford Ka has been a huge hit for Ford. The first generation (1996-2008) was one of the UK's most popular city cars. The new generation Ka, sold from 2009 onwards, is significantly different, sharing much of its underpinnings with the Fiat 500.

Latest model: Ford Ka (2009-)

Pros and cons

  • Pro: Decent space for a city car, lots of personalisation options, cheap to buy and run
  • Con: Weak engines, many safety items are not standard, not much fun to drive

New Ford Ka reviews

The Ford Ka is a city car co-developed with Fiat (it's a sister model to the Fiat 500). It comes in three-door form only, and with a choice of just two engines. There’s reasonable space inside for a city runaround, but it’s no great shakes to drive and it lacks some important safety features.

The new Ford Ka may lack the charm of the original, but is it a better buy than the Fiat 500 that it shares many parts with?

Used Ford Ka reviews

The first-generation Ford Ka sold in its hundreds of thousands, so there are lots to choose from, but it feels very old-fashioned by modern standards and has some issues as a secondhand choice. Is the 2009 Ford Ka any better in reliability terms? Find out in our used car review of the Ford Ka.
