The Honda Legend has been a consistent - if marginal - player in the luxury car market since the badge first appeared in 1986. The latest model, launched in 2006, is now longer on sale new but it makes an interesting, left-field alternative to a used Audi A6 or Jaguar XF - and one that's very good value. One oddity: it's four-wheel drive only.

The big and technologically sophisticated Honda Legend was sold between 2006 and 2009, so if you want one, it will have to be a used example. The good news is that the Legend boasts excellent comfort and Honda's reliability record as a brand is very good.

The Honda Legend was never the most popular luxury car choice, so your biggest challenge might be actually finding one second-hand. When you do, you'll be rewarded with a well specified, comfortable, luxurious saloon that's also surprisingly good value.
