The Jeep Compass is the compact-SUV offering from the American carmaker. Previously available in the old guise from 2007, the Compass was discontinued in the UK after selling in limited numbers. But Jeep, now in conjunction with Fiat, has updated the Compass and re-released it into the UK market. But it faces stiff competition from the Nissan Qashqai, Ford Kuga and VW Tiguan.

New Jeep Compass reviews

The Jeep Compass has been brought up to date with a refresh for 2011. Jeep has targeted the extremely popular compact-SUV market with the Compass, and broken away from traditional off-road bias to offer a more road focussed vehicle for the family. The Jeep Compass features a new 2.2-litre Mercedes-Benz derived diesel engine, and it's the first Jeep to be launched outside the US with a two-wheel-drive option.

Can the new Jeep Compass compete in the compact-SUV market?

Used Jeep Compass reviews

The original Jeep Compass was launched in 2007, but was swifty removed from the UK market after receiving little interest. Along with the Patriot, which has now been removed from the UK market too, the Compass was an entry-level option into the Jeep brand. The Compass pushed aside off-road prowess to offer families with a more road-focussed vehicle, but it proved unpopular in a growing SUV market.
