The Mazda MPV is exactly as its name suggests: a people-carrier, capable of carrying up to seven, with a high roof, plenty of legroom and decent loadspace. Sold between 1999-2004, it has long been superceded by Mazda's more stylish Mazda5 and CX-7 crossover, but there are enough around secondhand to suggest it as a decent budget buy. Discontinued in 2004, the Mazda MPV has been replaced by more fashionable alternatives - the sleek SUV-style CX-7 Mazda now sells seats seven as well, for a start. Used Mazda MPV reviews

There are many smart-looking Mazda MPVs around at very reasonable prices. The diesel version has held its value a bit better than the petrols, but all are now cheap to buy as this model ages, and the petrol's worth a look if you don't do a huge annual mileage. But would you be better-off with a more mainstream MPV like a Galaxy, Sharan or Alhambra? Read on for the Which? verdict.
