Mercedes-Benz car reviews Mercedes-Benz C-class reviews

  • NEW PRICE: - - £98,170
  • USED PRICE: From £2,425

The rear-wheel drive Mercedes-Benz C-class is a familiar sight, and a big seller for Mercedes. Interior quality is perceived as very high, particularly if options like leather and sat-nav are specified. For this reason they are expensive to buy new or used. The latest diesel Mercedes C-classes can be extremely fuel-efficient.

Until recently, the Mercedes Benz C-Class had a bit of an image problem. It was really rather dowdy looking. To many it was a straight lace big brother to the sleek Audi A4 and the thrusting BMW 3 series. But not anymore. In 2007 Mercedes literally face-lifted the C-Class, breathing youth into its looks with the aim of making it appeal to a whole new generation.

Buyers got the option to super-size the three-pointed badge and slap it right in the middle of the radiator grill. That's if they ordered a sport model. This version also comes with an AMG body kit, alloy wheels and lowered suspension. The C-Class is Mercedes' most popular model. More than 1 million have been sold since 2007.

Used Mercedes-Benz C-class reviews

It doesn't matter which generation Mercedes C-class you choose: it will almost certainly be pricier than an equivalent Ford or Vauxhall. The reason for this is Mercedes' strong image, and the fact that some (though not all) C-classes are extremely durable. The C-class Sport Coupe has now been replaced by the CLC - effectively a thorough facelift of the same car.
