MG car reviews

Most people know the MG badge, which once sat at the very pinnacle of popular sports car motoring. MG met its demise along with Rover several years ago, but its ashes have been stirred up by a new Chinese owner and production of the TF sports car has resumed. Other MG models are currently being made in China, including five-door hatchbacks, which may have a future in the UK.

Several dozen MG dealers still exist, servicing an aging population of MG and Rover models. They're likely to be busy, since MG reliability is ranked as very poor by Which? readers.

MG TF reviews

The MG TF roadster was originally launched in 2002, an update on the MG F, but production petered out in 2005 when MG Rover went bust. It's been back on sale new - albeit in very small numbers - with manufacturing restarted by MG Rover's new Chinese owners; whilst final assembly has been at Longbridge again, it's from kits shipped from China. A welcome return for a piece of British heritage, or an archaic anachronism which should have been pensioned off? Which? has the verdict.
