When BMW launched the Mini Convertible in 2004, its iconic supermini reached a whole new level of cool. The soft top folds back in two stages for open-top fun. The arrival of the Mini Convertible Mk2 in 2009 has not dented the appeal of the Mk1 Convertible since they look and behave pretty much the same.

New Mini Convertible reviews

The new Mk2 version of the Mini Convertible arrived in 2009 - and it's almost impossible to tell the difference from the old one. Small four-seater convertibles are rare - the Mini's only real rivals are the Fiat 500C and Peugeot 207 CC. The Mini Convertible really is small though - you can pretty much forget about carrying anyone in the tiddly rear seats.

The latest version of the Mini Convertible. The Mini hatchback provides a great base for this soft-top, which is stylish and fun, but offers little practicality.

Used Mini Convertible reviews

The first-generation Mini seems more reliable than the newer one but it still has a few niggly problem areas. Any Mini Convertible will be great fun to drive - whether it's a One, Cooper, Cooper S or John Cooper Works version - but the best all-rounder is the ordinary Mini Cooper Convertible.
