Relaunched by BMW in 2001, Mini has become a massive motoring success story. The retro hatchback has style, a unique interior and a fun-to-drive character. It's also highly desirable, with most models holding their value well. Mini offers a wide range of personalisation touches like stickers for the bonnet and roof and a range of alloy wheels.

The Mini hatchback is pricey, but it's also something different to the norm. Or at least it was, until the Citroen DS3, Fiat 500 and Audi A1 were launched, aiming to grab a bit of the growing premium hatchback market. It's still stylish and fun to drive, even after several years on sale and relatively few updates - a sign that it was well-designed in the first place.

Used Mini hatchback reviews

A used Mini will likely be more expensive than a comparable hatchback, due to the car's continuing desirability. We're found reliability to be fairly poor, so be careful not to buy an abused one. Minis under three years old may have some of the TLC servicing package left to run - a worthwhile extra if you can get it.
