Proton car reviews

Malaysian brand Proton started out life making old Mitsubishis, and has been active in the UK since 1989. These days, it develops and manufactures its own designs, which major on value for money above all else.

Proton's main claim to fame is that it owns British sports car manufacturer, Lotus, which helps out with engineering input in Proton's models. You'd be hard pushed to notice that from lacklustre models such as the Savvy and Gen-2.

Proton Gen-2 reviews

The Proton Gen-2 is cheap, but it won't necessarily make you cheerful. Although it's well equipped and handles reasonably well, the Gen-2 suffers from extremely poor build quality in and out. If you're after a low cost family hatch, consider the Kia Cee'd instead.
