The Renault Scenic - originally known as the Megane Scenic - was the first proper compact MPV on sale, though the Citroen Xsara Picasso soon came along and overtook it in the sales charts. It's been a firm favourite for many years amongst family buyers, however, liked for its roomy cabin, its low running costs, and its general usability. New Renault Scénic reviews

The development of the Scenic has followed the track of the Megane it's based on, and like the latest Megane, it's a very striking-looking car. Used Renault Scénic reviews

Early Scenics are now very cheap, and there are loads to choose from - buy the best within your budget, as you can afford to be picky. A correct service history is crucial, as there have been some reliability issues; decide between a cheaper petrol model or an economical - but more expensive diesel.
