A sad event for many motorists was the demise, in 2005, of one of the UK's oldest car brands: Rover. Having been owned by BMW, then by an independent consortium, the remains of the Rover company were bought by a Chinese operation but the brand has not been revived.
Therefore all the Rovers that appear in the Which? reader survey are older cars, such as the 25, 45 and 75. These are not reliable machines, it seems, as the Rover brand languishes almost at the very bottom of the reliability chart.
