The Saab 9-5 is a large executive car that competes with the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes E-class. A new model was launched in 2010 - a considerable achievement given that Saab sold was sold by General Motors to tiny Dutch company Spyker around the same time. We've tested both the old (1997-2010) and current (2010-) models.

New Saab 9-5 reviews

With its distinctive styling and elegant interior, the 9-5 is an alternative to the German exec norm. For some people, that's reason enough to buy one, but the 9-5 has other virtues - like the option of four-wheel drive. However, there's a big question mark over Saab reliability.

Used Saab 9-5 reviews

The old 9-5 was on sale for an incredible 13 years, so it was very dated by the time it was finally pensioned off in 2010. It's a big, comfortable car, and relatively cheap to buy used. Its not as enjoyable to drive as some competitors, though, and it seems prone to electrical problems.
