  • NEW PRICE: £11,845 - £16,230
  • USED PRICE: From £4,575

The Skoda Roomster MPV is a bit of an oddball to look at, but it offers an impressive level of practicality. It's less van-like than the Citroen Berlingo Multispace and its ilk, and more pleasing to drive, yet roomier than most mini-MPVs. On sale since 2006, the range includes the SUV-lookalike Roomster Scout, though we'd stick with a cheaper, more down-to-earth version. For the full lowdown, check out the detailed Which? review.

New Skoda Roomster reviews

For all it looks so quirky, the Roomster actually boasts some serious practical abilities. It's economical too, in both petrol and diesel forms; options include the Volkswagen DSG sequential-shift gearbox. Higher-spec models start to look rather expensive, but the basic and mid-range versions are good value. The new 1.6 TDI CR diesel engine's a big improvement over the old 1.9 TDI PD.

Skoda's Roomster is a bit of a quirky oddball in the world of motoring, seeming to comprise 50% car and 50% van. So is it up to the job intended?

Used Skoda Roomster reviews

The Skoda Roomster has proved - justifiably - to be an immensely popular secondhand buy, and used prices are still high. There are increasing numbers around to choose from, however, though few low-mileage examples below £6,000.
