  • USED PRICE: From £8,975

The metal folding roof might be the party piece of the Volkswagen Eos, but this coupe-cabriolet boasts a high quality interior finish, refined exterior looks and a good quality drive, too. It is priced at a premium though, even in the most basic specification. And although the folding roof is great for showing off, it does restrict the Eos’ boot space and room in the back.

You have the choice of both petrol and diesel engines if you’re buying a Volkswagen Eos new, but prices are steep, even for the most basic model at over £20k. There is a 1.4 and a 2.0-litre petrol engine, with both available in different power outputs, and a 2.0-litre turbodiesel. BlueMotion Technology is also available with a 1.4-litre engine.

A convertible coupe-cabriolet with a metal folding roof, the Eos is far more than a Golf with nothing over your head! A rival to Volvo's C70 coupe.

Used Volkswagen Eos reviews

Thankfully, the Volkswagen Eos enjoys relatively low depreciation levels, so even though you’ll have to pay through the nose for one, it’s likely to retain its value when you come to sell. As with any hardtop convertible, it’s worth checking for leaking roof seals. The discontinued 3.6 V6 FSI Eos is the one to look out for if you want performance to match the looks.
