After the Volvo V40 came the V50 estate, the five-door version of the current S40 saloon. Although it was originally launched back in 2004, the V50 is still one of the safest cars in its class. The V50 is an interesting alternative to cars like the Honda Accord and Mercedes-Benz C-class estates.

New Volvo V50 reviews

It may be getting a little old compared to rivals like the Audi A4 and Honda Accord but the Volvo V50 estate still offers a lot. It's a good choice for passenger safety, even if it's not the most practical estate in its class. The S40/V50 diesel engine range was reshuffled in 2010 with D2, D3 and D4 badging.
