I complained about this to you on (insert the date of your telephone call(s)) and you have failed to respond satisfactorily.

Under the Sale of Goods Act 1979, I have a right to receive goods that are of satisfactory quality. You are therefore in breach of contract and I wish to reject the goods and claim a replacement/refund.

Please respond to my complaint within seven days.

I complained about this to you (insert the date of your initial complaint). Someone came out to look at the problem on (insert date of visit, if applicable), but I have heard nothing since.

Under the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982 you have a legal duty to carry out work using reasonable care and skill and use materials of satisfactory quality which are fit for their purpose. The faults listed above clearly show that you are in breach of contract.

By law I am entitled to claim the cost of putting these problems right. I am now giving you the opportunity to fix these problems at your expense.

Please respond to my complaint within seven days.

I enclose a copy of the letter I wrote to you on (insert date of letter(s)) and I have not yet had a (response/satisfactory response).

I have given you reasonable opportunity to resolve my complaint. You have failed to do so.

I have now been left with no alternative but to seek legal redress through the courts. Unless this matter is satisfactorily resolved within the next 14 days by (explain what you want the company to do), I will start legal proceedings without further reference to you. The costs of starting this action will also be added to my claim.
