Babyliss Easy Cut hair clippers December 2009
Review of the Babyliss Easy Cut hair clippers
The Babyliss Easy Cut is an unconventional-looking male hair trimmer that's designed to make DIY grooming that little bit easier. As we're all looking to save a little money and time, we thought we'd give the Easy Cut a trial run – watch our video to see the hair clippers in action.
The Babyliss Easy Cut hair clippers have been designed to make home barbering that little bit easier.
The device looks more like a hockey puck than a regular pair of hair clippers. And unlike regular clippers, it allows for cutting in any direction thanks to the inward-facing circle of blades on the bottom of the Easy Cut.
This makes cutting easier than when using regular clippers – at least for the first time. Using regular clippers on your own head takes a little time to master, whereas the Babyliss Easy Cut is a doddle to use from the start.

In our first look test, the Babyliss Easy Cut hair clippers needed several passes over the same spot to ensure the hair was cropped neatly to the same length. It's the same with regular clippers, but the number of required passes seems to be greater with the Easy Cut.
The Easy Cut hair clippers left our researcher's hair neatly cropped, though the nape and behind the ears needed to be finished with a regular pair of clippers. A small pair of hair clippers are supplied with the Babyliss Easy Cut – along with a pair of scissors, a comb, some lubrication oil for the blades and a carry case. The Easy Cut hair clippers also come supplied with two attachments that offer hair-cutting grades 1-6.
The Babyliss Easy Cut clippers are designed to keep short hair neatly cropped, so if you have longer hair that you want considerably shortened, then you, or a barber, will have to cut it down to size first with a pair of scissors or a regular pair of clippers.
In our test we followed Babyliss' recommendation to charge the Easy Cut hair clippers for 16 hours before use. The Easy Cut's battery lasted for the duration of the hair trimming, though towards the end of the exercise the battery sounded a little tired.
The BaByliss Easy Cut can be bought from Argos for around £40.
