Wilkinson Sword Quattro Bikini Travel Razor March 2010
Two-in-one bikini line shaver
The Wilkinson Sword Quattro Bikini has a razor and trimmer for keeping your bikini line in tip-top shape. Can it save you time better spent on the beach? Discover our verdict in this first look review.
The Wilkinson Sword Quattro Bikini Travel Razor combines a razor with a battery-powered bikini trimmer, and comes with a handy travel case.
The unit costs £8.99 and comes with a AAA battery, a travel case and one razor head. Replacement heads cost £5 for three or £10 for six. We gave it to one of our researchers to try out.
Shaving using the Wilkinson Sword Quattro Bikini
The Wilkinson Sword Quattro Bikini Travel Razor is a standard razor with replaceable heads at one end, and a battery-powered bikini trimmer at the other.
Like its predecessor it’s bigger than most razors, partially due to the AAA battery inside. It also has the same comfortable soft-touch plastic casing, although this time it’s bright purple rather than turquoise.
The razor head has four blades and two moisturising strips, which our tester thought provided a good, close shave. This razor is part of the Quattro family of razors from Wilkinson Sword. Wilkinson Sword bikini line trimmer
The battery-powered bikini trimmer is about 2.5cm wide, and has two sharp metal teeth which are covered by a plastic guard. The guard can be pulled out to adjust the length of the trim. If you’re after a closer trim you can remove the guard completely. Both the trimmer and the razor can be used in the shower.
Our tester found that the trimmer was difficult to get the hang of, although no more difficult than other bikini trimmers she'd tried. She thought other other hair removal methods such as waxing or depilatory cream were easier. To power the bikini trimmer you simply press a button. Our researcher found that the button needed to be pressed reasonably hard in order for it to stick.
Bikini trimmer travel case
The travel case that comes free with the Quattro Bikini Travel Razor is a clear plastic case with a zip. It’s big enough to carry the razor, but you won’t easily be able to fit in additional items such as shaving gel or moisturizer.
The case is a nice extra freebie but it’s no better than the type of wash bag you typically get free with women’s magazines. The Wilkinson Sword Quattro Bikini Travel Razor is more expensive than a standard shaving system, but it's a lot cheaper than other battery-powered bikini trimmers, which usually start at around £16.
Pros: Handy two-in-one unit, replacement heads widely available and better for the environment, reasonably close shave
Cons: The travel bag was quite filmsy
