when new this product gives a very close shave, but replacement heads are very very poor performers.i have releagated my razor until, i hear the heads have been brought up to standard .warranting the high costs involved.

I bought this razor about two years ago,and while the first blade/foil lasted well past the first year the second and subsequent blade/foil hardly lasted six months each this was a big let down . The razor,as described by others gives a close shave but I find my self shaving longer and longer each time to try and get rid of the neck hairs. The longest time being about half an hour to try and get a close shave. If it wasn`t for the price(I paid £165.00) I would have binned it and gone back to a wet shave. Bearing in mind also the "extra cost" of replacing the cleaning fluid(£14.00 ish for three cartridges) and the cost of a new foil/blade ( £33.00 ish),its not that cheap to run, especially when you are replacing the blade every six months or so.

Don't buy if you want a close shave
I purchased this razor before reading reviews and have to agree with everything reported. Even though the battery lasts for ages, I would prefer a closer shave and have reverted to my much cheaper three head rotary old Philishave.

First, the RRP is comedy gold - that anyone (other than the eponymous millionaire Brewster) would pay 300+ for a razor is beyond me. However, there are deals to be had and for 1/2 of that, this is a solid and stylish razor, with a clean finish. I find it struggles a little with the most elusive of the neck hairs (just means I have to mow a little longer), but for chin/lip/cheeks it is superior to the Remington and Philips I've previously used. Above all, I like the twin foil approach which makes the up-to-side-burn shave a lot easier (my old razors were the triple rotary foils which were (frankly) rubbish for that). My Philips used to last 3 shaves tops before recharge; this Braun has done for 10 days so far with no recharge needed. The cleaning unit is a bit cumbersome for my bathroom, but I tested the clean setting and the shaver is left clean, dry and lemon-fresh.I'm not wholly convinced the 'intensive'/'sensitive' settings add much to the package (I'll update this review if I find any real-world differences), but it's a testament to the shaver that I moved seamlessly from my old razor with none of the usual rashes/sensitivity normally experienced with new kit.All in all, if you can get it for the right price (i.e. 50% of RRP or less), then recommended.

I have been using a Series 7 shaver for nearly two years now. It replaced another top of the range Braun. It quickly became clear that although the Series 7 is very comfortable, it doesn't shave as closely as my last shaver. I changed the foil and head at a year, without inprovement. I am going to change to something different now.

A Close Shave.
I have had this shaver for a month now, having previously owned a rotary Remington and a Braun 7570 - which was stolen. The new Braun replacement is a lovely shaver, an improvement on the 7507, and I am surprised that it is only rated three stars for closeness of shave. Frankly I don't see how it could shave closer, and I have thick stubble. I would have thought that Which? could have devised a more objective test than just the opinion of a few users. KenofSoton.
