Wheelbarrows About Best Buys

We made four of the 15 wheelbarrows we tested Best Buys.

Our Best Buy wheelbarrows are stable when loading and easy to empty, thanks to a tipping bar projecting beyond the wheel. They are also well-balanced and the vibration is minimal, because of comfortable grips and bouncy wheels.

All of the wheelbarrows we tested had a pneumatic tyre, which makes for easier handling. The wheel on each of our four Best Buys had an inner tube, which could easily be repaired in the event of a puncture, or replaced at a cost of about £4.

On average, a whole new wheel costs about £20, although Fort sells puncture-proof Flex Lite wheels for about £25. We found that it was pretty straightforward to remove the wheel on all of the wheelbarrow models that we tested, with the exception of the County and Fort barrows, which took longest and were rather fiddly.
