Sharing our cooker expertise

We’ve tested dozens of cookers in the Which? lab to discover which perform the best, and over the years we’ve developed an unrivalled understanding of what each brand tends to do well and not so well.

In this guide, our experts share what they’ve learnt about each of the biggest cooker brands - including Hotpoint, Smeg, AEG-Electrolux - and reveal the strengths and weaknesses of each, to help you decide which might best suit you.

Bear in mind that this guide only offers brand overviews, so for full reviews of each of the cookers we’ve tested, make sure you check out our individual cooker reviews.

How Which? tests cookers

In the Which? lab we test cookers on a wide range of criteria including oven performance, hob performance, grilling performance, ease of use and ease of cleaning. We award each model one to five stars for each of these criteria, and award the best performing models Best Buy status.

Check out our cooker reviews for more details on how we test, to see the test results for each individual cooker we’ve tested, and to find out which are Best Buys.
