Hotpoint cooker reviews

In the Which? lab we test cookers on a wide range of criteria, and have found a big differences between the best and worst models. Hotpoint cookers tend to score well for hob performance, and just over half of the models we’ve tested score excellently for grilling.

Most Hotpoint cookers achieve average to good scores for oven performance but scores for ease of cleaning vary quite significantly from model to model – from good to poor.

To test how easy a cooker is to clean we let a pan of rice water boiler over and heat a frying pan of oil so fat splatters on the hob. We also use chicken fat to dirty the inside of the oven and leave all these soils overnight.

We then attempt to clean the oven using warm water, washing up liquid and a heavy duty scrub sponge. The best models can be cleaned up in a jiffy, while the worst will leave you scrubbing.

If you’re considering buying a specific Hotpoint cooker, check how well it scores for ease of cleaning and a variety of other everyday uses, by visiting our cooker test results.

As well as testing cookers in our lab, we also survey thousands of owners to find out whether they’ve had any problems with their cooker. Check out our cooker reliability page to find out how reliable Hotpoint cookers are.
