How Which? tests fridge freezers
In the Which? lab we test fridge freezers on a wide range of criteria including; fridge cooling power, freezer cooling power, uniform fridge temperature, fridge and freezer temperature stability, ease of defrosting and noise.
We also use our lab results to calculate annual running costs for each fridge freezer. These can vary from £13 to £92 a year, so are definitely worth checking before you buy.
As well as testing fridge freezers in our lab, we also survey thousands of fridge freezer owners to find out how happy they are with their fridge freezer brand and whether they’ve had any problems with their model. We then calculate a reliability score and customer satisfaction score for each brand.
