Hotpoint fridge freezer reviews
In our lab tests Hotpoint fridge freezers generally score average to excellent for uniform fridge temperature, which is important as it means unwanted warmer spots won’t develop so you don’t need to store certain foods in particular places. A couple of models also score excellently for fridge cooling power (how quickly the fridge cools to the correct temperature), which is important for hygiene.
However, some models score very poorly for fridge power and scores for freezer power range significantly, from excellent to very poor. Several models also score poorly or very poorly for ease of defrosting. If you're considering buying a specific Hotpoint fridge freezer, check how well it scores for a variety of criteria by visiting our fridge freezer test results.
Fridge freezers typically account for 20% of electricity consumed by domestic appliances, so finding one that’s cheap to run could save you a fair bit of cash. Make sure you check the specifications in our fridge freezer reviews to find an efficient model.
A couple of Hotpoint fridge freezers have particularly low annual running costs of just £14 and £16 a year. The running costs for the rest of the models range from £22 to £54 a year.
Three of the Hotpoint models we’ve tested have a chill compartment, and two others come with humidity-controlled compartments, which allow you to manually control humidity in one compartment in the fridge Increasing the humidity can help prolong the life of fruit and vegetables, while lowering it can help keep meat, fish and dairy products fresh.
As well as testing fridge freezers in our lab, we also survey thousands of owners to find out whether they’ve had any problems with their fridge freezer. Check out our fridge freezer reliability page to find out how reliable Hotpoint fridge freezers are.
