Korean brand Samsung offers a wide range of microwaves, including several models with grills and a couple of combination microwaves.

In the Which? lab we test microwaves on a wide range of criteria, including speed, quality and evenness of cooking, defrosting ability and ease of use. We also test how well each microwave cooks a jacket potato and, if it has the ability, a whole chicken, a tray of toast and a batch of cakes.
The Samsung microwaves we’ve tested tend to score well or very well for defrosting and evenness of heating. Several models also get excellent scores for quality of food.
However, scores for speed of cooking range from excellent to very poor. If you’re considering buying specific Panasonic microwave, check how well it scores for speed of cooking and a variety of other criteria by looking at our microwave test results.
To test how evenly a microwave cooks food, we use a specially created substance that has a similar consistency to a lasagne when cooked. We heat this in the microwave and use heat probes to check whether it's left with hot or cold spots when cooked. The best microwaves will heat food to the same temperature throughout.
