Hotpoint ovens

Hotpoint, owned by Italian company Indesit, offers a wide range of built-in ovens, including Hotpoint Experience and Hotpoint Style ovens.

We’ve run extensive tests on eleven Hotpoint ovens in our test lab, including the Style SY56X, Style DY46X2 and Experience SE661X models. To find out how each oven scored, visit the Which? ovens review.

The Hotpoint ovens we’ve tested typically cost between £200 and £400, although we have tested a couple of more expensive models. To find an oven that suits your budget, use our compare ovens tool.

Hotpoint ovens reviews

The eleven Hotpoint ovens we’ve tested have achieved varying success in our tough lab tests. Most models we’ve tested have scored well for oven heat distribution, but scores for accuracy of heat controls range significantly - from excellent to very poor.

Several models score excellently for preheating speed, but scores for ease of cleaning range from excellent to poor and some models score poorly for evenness of grilling.

To test grilling performance we cover the grill tray with crustless white bread, place it under a hot grill and assess the size and evenness of the toasted area. Some poorly performing grills manage to toast only about 50% of the bread.

If you’re considering buying a specific Hotpoint oven, check how well it scores on a variety of criteria, by visiting our ovens test results. Here you will also find our compare ovens tool which can help you find an oven that best suits your needs.

Only one of the Hotpoint ovens we’ve tested is childproof. Four of the ovens have catalytic over liners and one has a pyrolytic self-cleaning system. Check out the features section of our guide to buying the best oven for details on how these self-cleaning systems work.

As well as testing ovens in our lab, we also survey thousands of ovens owners to find out how happy they are with their oven brand and whether they’d recommend it to a friend.
