Indesit ovens

Italian company Indesit offers a wide range of single and double electric ovens, and also owns oven brand Hotpoint.

We’ve run extensive tests on seven Indesit ovens in our test lab, including the FI31KBBK, FID20WH and FIE56K.BIXGB models. To find out how each scored, visit the Which? ovens review.

The Indesit ovens we’ve tested typically cost from £200 to £500. If these don’t suit your budget, you can use our compare ovens tool to find an oven that does.

Indesit ovens reviews

In our tough lab tests, Indesit ovens tend to score excellently for heat distribution. To test how effectively an oven distributes heat, we bake two trays of fairy cakes on different shelves. The best ovens produce 24 cakes that are all well-risen, uniformly cooked and an even golden brown colour.

Most Indesit ovens also score well for how easy they are to clean. However, several models score poorly for evenness of grilling and scores for accuracy of controls range from excellent to poor.

If you’re considering buying a specific Indesit oven, check how well it scores on a variety of criteria, by visiting our ovens test results. Here you will also find our compare ovens tool which can help you find an oven that best suits your needs.

None of the Indesit ovens we’ve tested are childproof, but three come with catalytic oven liners. This means they have rough surfaces inside, which catch, absorb and break down food spills. These are burned away during normal cooking, and should make your oven walls easier to keep clean.

As well as testing ovens in our lab, we also survey thousands of oven owners on the reliability of the model they have. Which? subscribers can see Indesit’s reliability rating in the table below, or visit the reliability page in our ovens review to see reliability data for all oven brands.
