Britannia range cooker reviews

In the Which? lab we test range cookers on a wide range of criteria, including oven preheating speed and temperature accuracy, hob performance, ease of use and cleaning, ease of fingerprint removal and grilling performance. We award each model one to five stars for each of these criteria and have found a significant difference between the best and worst models.

To test grilling performance we cover the grill tray with crustless white bread, place it under a hot grill and assess the size and evenness of the toasted area. Some poorly performing grills only manage to toast about 50% of the bread.

If you’re considering buying a Britannia range cooker, check how well it scores on a variety of criteria, by visiting our range cooker test results.

All the Britannia models we’ve tested come with six gas burners and a multifunction oven, which offers fan, grill and conventional oven cooking. Britannia range cookers come in a wide variety of colours – if you are looking for a model that matches your kitchen’s colour scheme, you can filter the cookers we’ve tested by colour using our compare range cookers tool.
