Just about to buy our second one of these. we have been baking bread at home for over 12 years using various bread makers and have found that they are all pretty much the same. we now go for the cheapest and this one is great. we use ours daily for a mixed white and wholemeal flour loaf with seeds and the dough function for pizza. although it has a sound to let you know when to add the seeds we've found that you can just put them in at the beginning and it rarely makes a difference to the usually good quality of the bread.

Had this machine for about 18 months now. The paddle used to stick in every loaf but rarely does as the machine got older. Really pleased with it for the price. Loaves rise less well in winter due to kitchen being cold, I place oven gloves over the viewing window seems to help it retain heat (avoid covering the vents). In summer loaves can rise hit the lid. Price should be taken into account when rating items, this is a great bargain and starting machine for those who aren't sure bread makers are for them. I don't use packet mixes, it makes great white and wholemeal loaves also on 'delay' also made pizza dough. Would make a great present. Like other makes (I am told by friends) results are influenced by room temperature as the lid could do with better insulation.

product problems resolved and the bread is excellent
I was given this product as a christmas present by someone who already had one. When I used it the first time it failed and kept tripping the electricity so I took it to Argos and it was replaced even though it was a little while after christmas and I did not have the receipt. I used the second one for a few weeks and that one failed as well. I knew the item was just faulty and that my friends breadmaker had no problems ever and had owned it for over a year. I therefore took it back to Argos explaining the fault and it was again replaced with a new one with no quibble at all. I have now used my breadmaker for over a year now and had no problems with it at all. I find the bread easy using the packet breadmix and is always lovely. Visitors always give that 'mmmm' when they taste it and I cannot eat the packet or bakery bread now I have my extremly convenient cookworks Signature. I have no problems keeping the item clean - just a wipe over with a damp cloth to keep the outside looking pristeen.

Simple to operate and the bread tastes good. Excellent price (£35) and not too big

Have made loads of excellent bread with this
I've had this well over a year and so far it's been great. I've had no problems with the paddle. Yes, it does tend to get stuck in the bread but they include a hook and it comes out easily. I've also not had any problems cleaning any part of it. the pan is non stick and wipes clean easily. I soak the paddle for a few minutes straight after taking the loaf out and it is clean in no time. This has been marked down due to difficulty in keeping the outside clean - all it takes is a wipe. I'm more interested in how the product functions rather than a few fingerprints on the outside.I tend to make my own bread rather than use the packet mixes. The recipes are ok but I've tweaked them to my taste successfully.
