The Beko DE2542FW is one of very few slimline dishwashers available in a choice of white or silver that can hold ten place settings. But does this dishwasher leave the dishes clean, dry, and free of watermarks? Read on to find out.

It is noisy and although cheap, if it were not for the insurance i took out on the machine when buying it, it would be extremely expensive. Pros: Cons:

If it had not gone wrong i would say it was very good, for the price, as it is very cheap and is comparable (cleaning, energy/water use wise) to machines over double its price. It is quite noisy, and some dishes dont fit very well and it will occasionally leave some pieces of cutlery a bit dirty, but the quality is probably comfortably the best for its cheap price Pros: Cons:

I usually use it about 5 times a week yet have not filled the salt dispenser again since I had it. The programme I use works quickly yet the dishes are always clean. It's very quiet compared with my previous machine. Like another reviewer I wasn't keen on the cutlery rack and have solved this problem by using my old one.All round good budget buy. Pros: Cons:

When we have visitors I need to run it twice. It's quieter than the Bosch I had for 15 years. The instructions are clear and thorough, with good information about electricity and water usage on the different programs. It seems very resource-efficient. Salt and rinse aid capacity are excellent. The layout took time to adjust to after being used to a Bosch. Only the racks on the right are spaced well enough to take my (Denby) dinner plates with room to get clean, if I put them on the left I feel they need to go in alternate spaces. But everything goes in for a day's use for the 2 of us, including saucepans. I regularly use prog 3 (as recommended in the instructions) and sometimes 2. My normal practice is to make sure little or no food is still stuck to things (also recommended), and everything comes out of the cycle clean. I didn't do that properly with some bolognese the other day, and bits of food got stuck on things. Prog 2 doesn't clean especially well if used regularly, but it's only 35 deg C. Plastics don't dry well (normal I suspect) but I often interrupt the cycle as it starts drying and air-dry instead to save energy. The cutlery basket is poorly designed, but we have modified it by crossing the too-large spaces with tie-wraps so that cutlery can stand up properly. I tried my old basket but it didn't fit into the layout. I also use a dishwasher cleaner a couple times a year (on prog 4), and (perhaps as a result?) have never had any trouble with any blockages. The Candy cost about £250 and I got this one for £180, first impressions are great, blown air drying, quick wash which seems to do a pretty good job compared to the old Candy, plastics don't dry as well as the Candy did, but that is not too much of an issue. The cutlery holder is poorly designed in my opinion, and I have used my old basket in it, other than that I am pleased with it, hope it lasts! Pros: Cons:

It has just died for good at 19 months old.The main problems are that despite care being taken it frequently blocks, filling the compartment with dirty water, which is not easy to empty. It does not manage to clean all the crockery, those around the perimeter of the racks are left dirty. There is a little niggle of the power button is a push and click button, but it is poorly made and gets stuck in.I would recommend that this model gets do not buy status. Pros: Cons:
