When we test dishwashers we load them with the kind of dishes, pots and pans that you would use at home. We then plaster the dishes and pans with egg, porridge and spinach and we splatter hot milk all over glasses. We set them to be washed on the main or automatic programs. We check how well the dishwashers clean the items, how long they take and how much energy and water is used. We also check how easy they are to set, load and unload and we see how well they clean themselves. When a dishwasher does exceptionally well in our tests, we make it a Best Buy.
