Dishwashers: Compare features & prices Candy CDI1012 review Back to Results

This Candy CDI1012 built-in dishwasher holds 12 place settings, but lacks some of the features found on other models. How would it fare in our tough tests - would this dishwasher clean well enough to make up for its lack of frills?

We were given this dishwasher when we bought a new fitted kitchen so we should not really complain. However, although it washes OK it is noisy and the drying is not very good. The plates on the bottom rack dry ok but then the mugs drip all over them when you open the drawers. One problem that became apparent after some time was an accumulation of gunge under the lip of the door. With the door open food sauces and gravy etc drips on to the edge of the door and when the door is close it covers the area so it does not get cleaned. It can get quite smelly and is very difficult to clean out as you can't really get to it.The real complaint is that after only 2 years the main washer pump motor has failed. New motors are £80 but are easy to fit. It seems one of its bearings has worn out.
