Bought this dishwasher about 2 years ago from B&Q. Although it cleans & dries quite well I have encountered more chips on crockery with this model, despite stacking it in the correct manner.

Electrical Fault
Ordered this machine from John Lewis on the 26th of March. Very pleased with the performance initially but unfortunately after a month it developed an electrical fault and would not turn on. John Lewis as always were excellent and readily agreed to replace it but unfortunately they have withdrawn the Indesit so I have chosen their own brand machine to replace it on which they allowed me a very generous discount as it was more expensive. Top marks to John Lewis - not so sure about Indesit.

I have this model. Bought 22 months ago. No problems until six months ago and then I found it didn't always start on the first press of the button. Yesterday, on Christmas day it cleaned one load. At the beginning of the second load there was a fairly strong smell of burning. I have cleaned it thoroughly and changed the fuse, no luck. How bizarre is the 22 month link.

Free parts and labour con
Free parts are all very well - but Indesit will simply sting you on the labour. I doubt you'd get any labout repair for less than £100 - and at nearly half the price of the machine you'd need to consider whether this is economical given that it could fail again. Indesit is a relatively unreliable make.

So far so good, read Mr Mercers comments that his Indesit DIF 04 only lasted 22 months which he subsequently scrapped. This has puzzled me the unit comes with five year parts warranty provided you register which is free.My previous model was an Ariston which is made by Indesit and that lasted 9 years before the main board failed
