Very satisfied customer
I can only say this is a fantastic washer. It is so quiet we don't know it's on. Washes everything really well, even dried on egg. Shop around for the best buy. We have had ours for a year now. Recommend best quality detergents see which recommend they are also good at the job.

We have had this model for 6 months and no faults to report. As with other reviewers, it is very quiet which is great if it is housed in the kitchen. Washing performance can be a bit hit and miss and not what we were expecting given the 'best buy' review by Which. It does clean plates and glasses but there are too many times that marks and debris are left and you have to finish the task by hand which rather defeats the object of having a dishwasher. I would class this model as 'average' rather than outstanding.

The Siemens "high Expectations" not met
After many happy years of a bosch dishwasher we went for the Siemens in our new kitchen. Disappointingly, this does not measure up to the Bosch we used. Sporadic results. Dishes seem not to be rinsed properly .... film of detergent or rinse aid still remains at times. Also, we have to be very careful of not overfilling it .....or the dirt catches on a regular basis ( this rarely happened with the bosch). This is inspite of rinsing all delph before it goes in. Delph may also not be fully dried. Had anticipated higher standards as it was a siemens and it was the top of the best buy league at Which.

A very good Best-Buy
The wife chose this for our new kitchen as it was a "Best-Buy". Can thoroughly recommend it. It's very quiet in operation which took a bit of getting used to after our 18 year old Hotpoint! Cleans everything very well but I recommend a quick rinse under the tap for anything that is really heavily soiled as I don't believe there is any machine that can guarantee a complete clean on pots that have food burnt on.

Our first dishwasher and meets most expectations fully
We have had this 7 months now and wonder how we managed before. Its so quiet you can't tell whether it is on or not. Most of the wash cycles seem unnecessarily long and we have found that the short glass cycle works perfectly well to wash normally soiled dishes. In can take some time to dry after the cycle ends, and water collecting on top of mugs won't go - so have a tea towel handy when unloading. When loading the machine you do have to make sure that the door is fully open or the lower rack comes out with a bang and can come off its track. Sometimes the wash tablet does not get used fully, but that doesn't seem to pose a problem getting things clean. Overall an excellent buy based on the Which? recommendation

Flawed door and slow customer service
New kitchen in April 12 on on John Lewis recommendation 'upgraded' to Siemens after years of Bosch and Neff.Pros: VERY quiet, cleans effectively.Cons: No external display, so no idea if working (!) or how long left. Wash cycles very long (2h 45m +++) so have to use express settings during day. Cutlery rack seems flimsy, holes not big enough for our cutlery handles.Problem: We had similar issues to other reviewers, occaisionally failed to complete cycle, failed to use whole tablet (Finish brand). By December 2012 this was becoming more frequent, called for engineer visit. Engineer replaced door lock on reasonable assumption (knowledge ?) that this 'catch-less' door design was allowing door to open slightly with the force of the water swirling around on wash cycle and this 1mm movement was switchin off the machine. Long story short is that the lock failed immediately after his visit and every subsequent visit. 4 visits to date and counting. Would have been more but as in other reviews you have to wait a week every time for an engineer to come. So we are now 6 weeks without a dishwasher and counting. As others have said, I wish I'd bought another Bosch. This is the same company, Siemens is the 'premium' brand, that doesn't extend to quality or responsiveness I'm afraid. My advice - Avoid.

Disappointed
I purchased this last June for kitchen extension after having had a small Bosch which was over 10 years old but worked perfectly. On Which recommendation I went for the Siemens and am very disappointed in the washing performance for one reason. it leaves 'bits' especially on the glasses and I cannot put a glass carafe in at all. I always rinse all my plates now beforehand which I didn't have to do with the Bosch. Even though I rinse round the saucepans beforehand it does not get them clean. I wish I had bought another Bosch.

Good but needs setting up properly
As mentioned by others it is very quiet and cleans very well, some of my pans have been through several different dishwashers (Bosch and John Lewis included) and this Siemens brought them up like new. However it does need setting correctly for water hardness level (we already have water softener on mains) and the extra drying menu option made a difference but it falls down on drying plastics, hence only four ticks. Plates, cutlery, pans and glass clean and dry perfectly. Plastic will not dry....

Stunningly quiet
I bought this as a Which? recommendation. I can't believe how quiet it is, it's fantastic in that respect. The door closure mechanism began to fail after about 6months, which resulted in the door popping open slightly and the wash process stopping but Siemens service sorted it out very promptly, with no fuss. I've had occasional problems with the wash tablet not disolving fully - probably caused by stacking large items in front of the tray in which it's held to dissolve during the wash.

Bought the machine May 2012 (on Which? recommendation) to replace more expensive Neff machine which had lasted 12 years. Siemens machine performed well in that cleaning and drying has been OK. On one occasion programme stopped working half-way through with an error code in the display. Manual exceptionally unhelpful - so treated it like a computer and switched the machine off and then on. Has worked OK ever since. On one occasion machine failed to utilise all detergent tablet properly. Generally, a good machine - but not exceptional.

Very quiet machine
This dishwasher was bought to replace an elderly noisy Electrolux and it is so quiet. The short progrmme is great for just washing china and glass while the longer programmes work well for more soiled kitchen equipment. It's not perfect with burnt-on food in cast iron ware although a lot better than my old machine and it's no problem to finish these off by hand. Only minor quibble is the design of the top tray does not allow easy positioning of wine glasses etc.

Excellent
Had this for 3 months now and it's great. Is very quiet and has got everything brilliantly clean. Even the drying is better than our old Bosch.Only annoyances are that the child catch is a bit fiddly and you have to (apparently, according to my wife) press a start button to get it to wash, not just choose the program and close the door like I did...
