Freezer reviews: Reliability

Every year we survey thousands of Which? members about their home appliances to find out which brands are the most reliable. This year, we've compiled the views of 2333 members about their freezers to bring you reliability ratings for top freezer brands.

Our research shows that freezers are very reliable appliances. See below to find out which brands top our table - the top two have exceptional reliability scores of 98% each.

The great news is that no freezer brand has poor results in this year's survey. And if you own a Beko, Bosch, or Hotpoint freezer you’re certainly not alone, as 41% of respondents in our survey own one of these freezer brands.

Reliability and Best Buys

A freezer can qualify as a Best Buy if its brand scores at least three stars in our survey of thousands of owners – in which we ask how often their appliances have broken down -  or it has a free 5-year warranty. But as freezers are generally reliable, we also allow models to be Best Buys if we don’t yet have a reliability rating, unless we know this brand has a poor track record for similar appliances.

To see how well freezers from brands including AEG, Beko, Bosch, Electrolux, Frigidaire, Hotpoint, John Lewis, Miele, Neff, Norfrost, Whirlpool and Zanussi perform in our tests, see our full Which? freezers review.
