Colour
Range cookers usually come in more than one colour, so if you're looking for a colour that we don't feature, check with the manufacturer.
Cooker size in cm
The height, width and depth of the range cooker
Main oven usable volume (l)
This is the actual space that you can use to cook with in the main oven. It's the space available above the lowest shelf in its lowest position, up to 3cm below the top of the oven. The usable volume test wasn't carried out for range cookers tested prior to 2012.
Secondary oven usable volume (l)
This is the actual space that you can use to cook with in the secondary oven. It's the space available above the lowest shelf in its lowest position, up to 3cm below the top of the oven. The usable volume test wasn't carried out on range cookers tested prior to 2012.
Annual energy costs (£)
This is an annual figure based on roasting a chicken three times a week in the main oven.
Oven preheating time
How quickly the oven heats up to 150, 180 and 200 degrees C, indicated by the thermostat light turning off. An excellent fan oven heats up in less than half the time of a very poor oven.
Oven accuracy
How well the oven maintains the set temperatures of 150, 180 and 200 degrees C. An excellent fan oven is within 2 degrees C of this temperature, a very poor oven is more than 15 degrees C inaccurate
Heat distribution
How well the main oven distributes heat around the cavity.
Baking
How well the main oven continuously supplies heat over a period of time. We bake a large sponge cake to measure this and record how well it rises. This test wasn't carried out on range cookers tested prior to 2012.
Grilling
How good the grill is at browning food effectively and evenly. More than 70% of the grill area browns effectively on an excellent grill, and less than 40% on a very poor grill
Hob performance
How quickly and efficiently the hob heats up and its effectiveness at simmering
