Oven accuracy
How well the oven maintains the set temperatures of 150, 180 and 200 degrees C. An excellent fan oven is within 2 degrees C of this temperature, a very poor oven is more than 15 degrees C inaccurate
Heat distribution
How well the main oven distributes heat around the cavity.
Baking
How well the main oven continuously supplies heat over a period of time. We bake a large sponge cake to measure this and record how well it rises. This test wasn't carried out on range cookers tested prior to 2012.
Grilling
How good the grill is at browning food effectively and evenly. More than 70% of the grill area browns effectively on an excellent grill, and less than 40% on a very poor grill
Hob performance
How quickly and efficiently the hob heats up and its effectiveness at simmering
Range cooker type
Select your cooker fuel from electric (an electric oven with an electric ceramic hob), electric induction (an induction hob with an electric oven), gas and dual-fuel (gas hob with an electric oven).
Range cooker width
Select your cooker width from 70cm to 110cm
Fan oven
Select an oven with fan if you're looking for even heating and quick cooking times
Main oven usable volume (l)
The actual space you can use to cook with in the main oven - we measure from the lowest shelf in its lowest position to 3cm from the top of the oven, from side-to-side and from front-to-back
Secondary oven usable volume (l)
The actual space you can use to cook with in the secondary oven - we measure from the lowest shelf in its lowest position to 3cm from the top of the oven, from side-to-side and from front-to-back
Energy costs
This is an annual figure based on cooking a chicken three times a week in the main oven
